terra vita event

Weaver Street Realty is excited to sponsor TerraVITA Food & Wine Event, the first sustainable food and wine event in the Southeast. Coming to Chapel Hill in the fall, the event will bring together some of the finest biodynamic and organically-grown wines and microbrews in the world with the very best sustainable foods in the Southeast! TerraVITA's Grand Tasting on the Green will take place on the Green at Southern Village from 1 — 5 p.m. on October 16, 2010. Alongside international fine organic wine producers and microbrewers, more than two dozen chefs from North Carolina's top restaurants, chocolatiers, cheese-makers and food artisans will prepare sample tastings for all attending this sustainable celebration! Many fantastic restaurants, including Crook's Corner, Bonne Soiree, Neal's Deli, Nana's, Carolina Crossroads, Saxapahaw General Store, Pazzo and Elaine's on Franklin, will be joined by travel-worthy restaurants such as Early Girl Eatery (in Asheville), Mimosa Grill (in Charlotte), Lucky 32 (in Greensboro), Chef & The Farmer (in Kinston), and On The Square (featured in the article on Tarboro in the August 2010 issue of Our State magazine). There will be more than 100 wines, a half-dozen microbrews and select organic coffee and tea producers offering samples of their very best organic beverages. Also plan to experience the sights and sounds of live bluegrass music, while soaking in an autumn afternoon with a silent auction offering dining and travel, food and wine merchandise and original art. All the proceeds from the auction will go to the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association and TABLE, a non-profit dedicated to providing food for children at risk for hunger. Tickets are all-inclusive, food and beverage, for $65. For more information, go to theTerraVITA website.
