Jay Parker headed south from suburban Long Island and attended Duke University, earning a degree in English. After graduating, he worked in carpentry and later with Chapel Hill's Recreation Department. Jay joined Weaver Street Realty and Auction company as an auctioneer and in 1986, Jay was pulled into the real estate part of the business. Now married to Chapel Hill native Stuart Phillips, a writer, teacher and mother of their two children, Jay has been a partner in the firm since 1990. He currently serves as Sales Manager and Broker-in-Charge.

Jay's background in building and public relations lend their light to his real estate work, adding an understanding of home construction, interpersonal skills and intelligent use of land. His inclinations are toward helping buyers find their dream home, listing lots, land and intriguing houses, and developing land with attention to preservation and conservation of its ecosystem and unique qualities.
