Don Basnight was born here. His parents were born here. His grandparents were born here. In fact, on his mother's side it goes back much further than that. "I'm so much a native to Orange County that some people claim to have seen me in a loin cloth and war paint," he says.

Don's father was known for being a merchant in-town and his mother is a gardener out-of-town. He was raised grounded to both sides of the tracks. He finally found his earth for growth here at Weaver Street Realty and Auction.

Don attended Guilford College in Greensboro to play soccer and has continued his education at UNC. He is an auctioneer, real estate broker, GRI graduate, yard sale lover, and all-around good guy. He studies people. Don loves real estate and takes to heart Thomas Jefferson's philosophy, "It is not too soon to provide by every possible means that as few as possible should be without a little portion of land. The small landholders are the most precious part of a state."
